You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. Psalm 92:4

Saturday — What a fun day!  We started the day at Haile Resort “a real treat” where the kids went swimming and Rachel got sunburned.  (Okay, not so much fun for Rachel).  Even Gracie got in on the swimming action thanks to the floaties and life jackets from Mandy & Eric for the Ayele children.

Following this we walked to the Helimission compound which is right around the corner from Haile for a birthday party for Naomi who turned five years old.  Helimission is a NGO that supports local missionary organizations in the bush by flying in provisions for them. In addition, they transport building material and medical supplies and fly in medical personnel to treat local inhabitants in remote areas.  The Helimission compound is right on Lake Awassa - what an incredible place for a birthday party!  They have hippos right below them and they have a zip line!  I watched the kids have so much fun that I couldn’t take it anymore and I cut in line!  I went “no catch” which means there is no one to grab the line and stop you before you run straight into a tree at the end of the line.  Literally, it feels like you will smack right into the tree trunk (just like George of the Jungle) but there are three tires that were strategically placed to stop you just in the nick of time.  What a blast!  Oh, did I mention - there was an eagle sitting in the tree above us the whole time?

After birthday cake and zip lining the men rolled out the helicopter and the kids helped them load huge bags of corn and a few mattresses that were flown to the Southern Regions of Ethiopia today, Monday.  Just try to top that birthday party Chuckie Cheese!!

We ended the day with some other friends cooking Quesadillas over an open fire and roasting the other bag of marshmallows Rachel brought back from the States.  So much fun packed into one day!

God is good all the time!
